poste restante — a space for visual dialogue between photographers

We acutely feel fragmentation, autonomy, and geographical distance within the artistic community.

This project was created to shorten that distance and to form a space for collective and attentive interaction.

We were inspired by A New Nothing as an example of how photography can exist not in isolation, but in relation. At the same time, we wanted to make the format open and accessible to anyone willing to enter a dialogue.

We invite authors to speak to each other through photographs. Two participants respond to one another in turn. Images begin to relate — formally, emotionally, or conceptually — forming a chain of visual echoes.

Participants may use both archival and newly made photographs. What matters is not when the image was taken, but the attentiveness of the response.

A photo dialogue is not a competition, nor a portfolio. It is a process: slow, observant, sometimes unexpected. One image gives rise to another, creating connections that cannot be planned in advance.

The project is open to everyone — professionals, amateurs, and anyone drawn to the idea.

We regard photo dialogue as an independent artistic practice and invite others to join the conversation through images.
